Responsible Sourcing

To achieve Asia Pulp and Papers' sustainability goals in production, qt电子要求所有供应商——现有的和潜在的——遵守qt电子的森林保护政策(FCP). Additionally, qt电子还制定了负责任的纤维采购和采购政策(RFPPP)来指导qt电子的供应商. 它为qt电子用于评估它们是否符合FCP的特定过程和标准提供了一个总体框架.

Based on the risk assessment results, we categorize potential suppliers into "significant risk" or "negligible risk." If a potential supplier is categorized as a "significant risk," it will be required to implement corrective actions (CARs) within an agreed period. Otherwise, it will not be accepted as our supplier.

Carbon and Energy

A key focus at all of our mills is energy efficiency. Generating energy on site makes the most impact on our direct CO2 emissions. We use renewable fuels as much as possible, except for when it is not technically or commercially feasible. qt电子利用生物燃料废物,显著减少了综合纸浆和造纸厂的化石燃料使用量. The majority fuel of our integrated pulp & paper mills use are renewable fuels, supplemented predominantly with coal or natural gas. 6% of our emissions are attributed to the purchase of energy. 

Our energy intensity decreased 1.8% by the end of 2020 compared to a 2018 baseline, against our Vision 2030 target of 25%. By the end of 2020, we achieved a carbon intensity reduction of 13% compared to 2018 baseline, against a target of 30% in 2030. 这主要是通过用可再生燃料替代化石燃料来实现的. 59% of our energy needs are generated from renewable fuels, compared to 49% in our 2012 baseline year. 这意味着从可再生资源产生的能源增加了6500万GJ以上.

Water

Pindo Deli Karawang implemented a sludge-handling programme to improve the quality of wastewater treatment at mill 1; through this action, we succeeded in reducing the COD and BOD effluent parameters by 19% and 24% respectively. As a Company that draws water from the Citarum River, Pindo Deli Karawang participated in the government-run ‘Citarum Harum’ programme, to improve the quality of water of the Citarum River.
 

Waste

To increase our energy efficiency, we turn by-products such as black liquor, bark, 将其他残留物转化为能源,在qt电子的综合纸浆和造纸厂取代化石燃料的使用.  Furthermore, this means these by-products are diverted from landfill, which along with their use for the generation of power, and reduces the carbon footprint of our mills significantly.
